New School Year 2022-2023

Dear St. Nicholas Catholic School Family:

We hope you have enjoyed a fantastic summer break and are getting excited to come back to school.  The 2022-2023 school year is nearly here and we cannot wait to see each one of you!

This summer, our excellent staff attended several professional development training sessions to help us continue to integrate best teaching practices into our instruction and provide you with the very best educational experience. We continue to strive towards our goal of educating all students in a Christ-centered environment and building positive, supportive relationships with all students and families.

With each new year come new and exciting changes and we are happy to welcome new staff members who will be joining our St. Nicholas team or transitioning into a new role!

  • Mrs. Charity Portillo is thrilled to start her new teaching position in 1st grade. We are proud of her efforts to gain her certification and feel very blessed to have such a wonderful teacher on staff. Mrs. Portillo has two children attending our school.
  • Mrs. Justine Lynch will be joining us as our 5th and 6th math teacher and to work with our students in our direct-instruction groups. Mrs. Lynch has teaching experience in Minidoka County School District and is known for her excellent and engaging teaching. Mrs. Lynch has two children attending our school and one future pre-schooler.
  • Ms. Betriz Dominguez will be our new full-time aide who will work in classrooms to assist teachers in reading, math and writing. Besides working at St. Nicholas, Betriz will be attending ISU to earn her Education degree. Ms. Dominguez loves working with students and will be such a blessing to our kids.
  • Mrs. Natalie VanTassell will be our new librarian. Natalie worked in the library last spring and will continue to bring her talents and creativity to the library. Natalie has 3 children attending St. Nicholas.
  • In after-care, we will welcome Megan Little and Elizabeth Ramirez. These ladies will share the position and work part-time. Both are eager to meet our students and after-care families.  Megan has two children at St. Nicholas.

We wish Mrs. Cofer and Mrs. Bingham many blessings as they pursue other opportunities. We are very grateful for the many years they’ve dedicated to our school and although they will be greatly missed we are excited for their new adventures. Finally, our most sincere thanks and congratulations to Mrs. Packham on her retirement. She has been an incredible blessing to our school and has touched the lives of so many students and families.

Now onto some important dates, mark your calendars!
